A coming soon page or holding page is a web page which tells visitors that particular website is under construction and coming soon with all necessary features. Every webmaster tries to give a unique identity to his website, same with coming soon pages. Smart webmasters give great importance to their holding pages and try to make them unique and perfect in all aspects.

There are lots of features which are necessary to make a coming soon page ideal. Here we are going to enlist few major elements which are compulsory for a best coming soon page.

Explain the Business

Your coming soon page should have the main heading, title and a short description about your business. That short introduction will help visitors to understand about your website. You can use same technique as SEO experts use in Metas. Write 50 to 60 characters in title or headine and 150 to 165 characters in short description. It will help to save your visitors’ time.

Countdown Timer

Mentioning launching date is very professional practice and for this purpose you can also use countdown timer which will help visitors to understand the exact time about your websites’ launching day and date. A perfect coming soon page should have this feature because it save visitors’ time and make the picture clear about launching date.

I don’t think it is useful at all to have a website or a page that tells the visitor that even that Google sent them there, there is no information for them yet. I strongly doubt, that users will postpone the desire to solve their problem and return to that site when you have found the time to complete the site. Some site owners indicate pages ‘under construction’. After clicking on two of those pages, I will quit the site all together. My opinion, but open for discussion…
